Dalein completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stellenbosch University and, after graduating, spent time in the mining industry and investment banking. In 2002, he left South Africa to complete his MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, MA. After graduating he joined The Boston Consulting Group in New York City and left in 2007 in order to return to South Africa and join Metier where he is currently an Associate Principal of the Lereko Metier Capital Growth Fund (Pty) Limited.
