Mr Thierry Dalais is the executive chairman and a founder of the Metier Group and serves as a non executive director of a number of listed and unlisted companies. He has driven the formation and implementation of Metier's private equity partnership with Lereko, and been instrumental in raising commitments and interest in its unique proposition and is active member of its investment team. With over two decades in private equity and financial services advice to entrepreneurs, Thierry has developed and shared a passion for investment and partnering that has provided inspiration to financial services firms and partners alike.

Thierry completed degrees in accounting and commerce at the University of the Witwatersrand and served articles at Deloitte in Johannesburg and Sandton where he qualified as a chartered accountant in 1984. Thierry was then employed at Merhold Investment Corporation Ltd, initially in its trade financing activities, and later in the investments and corporate advisory services arm where he was responsible for establishing and managing a successful principal investment portfolio.

In 1991, Thierry Dalais co-founded Capital Partners, now Brait, and led the formulation of investment policy and transaction structuring and served, inter alia, as principal and key man of Brait's private equity funds and as its Executive Deputy Chairman.. Thierry also serves as trustee of a number of community based organisations with a youth development and educational support focus.
